About The ProgramThe Channel Islands Clinical Laboratory Science certificate program includes didactic and practical clinical training in diagnostic tests. Students work 4 days a week at a clinical site laboratory and 1 day per week in didactic instruction. The didactic component covers microbiology, hematology, blood bank, molecular diagnostics, and clinical chemistry. Graduates receive a certificate and are eligible for CLS licensure.
About The PositionInstructor for the Clinical Chemistry component of the Spring semester CLS course. Instruction can be in-person (Fridays only) or online.
Minimum Degree Requirements- B.S. with active CLS certification
- M.S., Ph.D., or M.D.
- Commitment to work with and engage a diverse student population, with evidence of mentoring minority students focusing on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander groups.
Deliver in-person or online instruction of clinical chemistry review for CLS interns preparing for the licensure exam. Course is graded on a credit/no‑credit basis, so grading is minimal.
Final date to receive applicationsScreening of applications will begin 1/10/2025. Priority will be given to applicants who meet the deadline; the position remains open until filled.

California State University Instructional Faculty, Special Programs‑For Credit Schedules. Placement into ranges 2 through 5 is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range.
