Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Oxnard, California

Make a real impact supporting students as an ASL interpreter for the  academic year! This contract opportunity is based at a single, convenient high school location, allowing you to build rapport with both staff and students in a consistent setting. With a steady 30-hour work week, youll play a key role in making education accessible and engaging for your assigned caseload.

• Proficiency in American Sign Language and previous experience interpreting in educational settings
• Experience supporting high school-aged students is strongly preferred
• Comfortable collaborating with educators, support staff, and families
• Current certifications or credentials required by the state for educational sign language interpreters
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and ability to adapt in dynamic environments

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school events to support deaf/hard-of-hearing students
• Work closely with teachers and staff to ensure seamless communication
• Foster student engagement and encourage participation in all aspects of school life
• Adhere to professional standards of confidentiality and conduct
• Provide feedback to the educational team about student needs, progress, and necessary accommodations
