Actively seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to join our Precise Systems team in support of the STANDARD Missile (SM) In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) Systems Engineering Branch at Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD). This full-time position provides technical support in execution of the in-service engineering agent tasking for Weapon Systems Integration and Fleet Interface support for SM-2, SM-3, and SM-6 programs.

This role is critical in aligning engineering, test, and logistics activities with program objectives to sustain fleet readiness and increase combat system capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise for STANDARD Missile A&E (Ammunition & Explosive) Facilities in support of explosive safety, site planning, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical requirements for new construction, certification, and operations
  • Support technical updates to Technical Operational Requirements (TOR) and Basic of Design Document (BODD); and support A&E facility design reviews (including Planning and Conceptual Design Reviews), Design Submittal Reviews (e.g. 30%, 60%, 90% and 100%) for compliance with criteria, Explosive Safety Review and Approval, and Final Construction and Operational Readiness Reviews.
  • Provide program and technical support for STANDARD Missile, including but not limited to inventory tracking and management, In-Theater All-Up-Round (AUR) cross decks and repair; technical escort and monitoring of high-value assets during transportation, conducting shipboard training for AUR capabilities and limitations (C&L), fleet integration, Fleet and T&E missile firings; and failure investigations & analysis
Required Experience
  • Ten (10) years’ experience in DoD/DoN Ammunition & Explosive (A&E) programs in support of facilities (such ILMF, DLMF, MMF)
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • NOSSA A&E certification (or DoD accredited equivalent) for Basics of Naval Explosive Hazard Control (AMMO-18), Navy Electrical Explosives Safety (AMMO-29), Explosive Safety for Naval Facilities Planning (AMMO-36);
    Explosive Safety Officer Orientation Course (AMMO-74)
  • Expertise in STANDARD Missile (SM-2, SM-3, and SM-6), MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS), and Aegis Weapon System (AWS)
  • Problem-solving skills in identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing fixes; breaking down complex issues into smaller, manageable parts and finding creative solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders, present findings, and facilitate technical discussion and collaboration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Teams)
Required Education
  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree or higher preferred.
