Job DescriptionThe Educational Sign Language Interpreter supports staff, students, and families by providing interpretation and translation services for deaf and hearing‑impaired students. The interpreter also effectively facilitates communication between students who use sign language due to hearing loss, and students/teachers who do not.
Minimum Requirements- State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable)
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Monday‑Friday
- Full‑time (35‑40 hours/week)
- K‑8, multiple sites
- Start: ASAP | End:
June 2026 - Local rate: $40‑45/hr (weekly pay)
- EIPA or RID cert required
- M‑F, full time
- 37.5 ‑ 40 hours/week
- Must be comfortable with preschool ‑ junior high
- $40‑44/hr
- Must be fluent in ASL
- EIPA/RID cert not required
- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
