The following is a description of overall responsibility as it supports the department and how the role impacts the company. The purpose of this role and job function supports the production team by preparing wire and cable assemblies through the pre-tinning process for insert assemblies used in manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for preparing stripped wire ends by dipping wires into solder to create clean, consistent terminations for use in connector and cable assemblies.
This is an entry-level manufacturing role and no prior experience or specialized skills are required. Training will be provided. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, willing to learn new processes, and able to work both independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting production operations while maintaining company quality and safety standards.

- Prepare wires and cables for pre-tinning operations
- Strip insulation from wire ends using hand tools and production equipment
- Dip stripped wire ends into solder pots to properly tin conductors and then remove solder
- Organize and handle and wires and cable assemblies carefully to prevent damage
- Follow production drawings, work instructions and manufacturing procedures
- Maintain solder pots and workstations in a clean organized condition
- Identify basic defects or inconsistencies and notify supervisors as needed
- Meet daily production and quality expectations
- Follow all company quality standards, safety procedures and production requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Must be able to work a consistent schedule

- No previous manufacturing experience required
- Previous soldering experience is helpful

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : Required
Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, computer data, and procedure manuals. Good written language skills are required, including the ability to write routine reports, procedures, and effective correspondence. The ability to speak effectively, and clearly so others can understand you, before individuals or groups.
SOCIAL SKILLS : Ability to continually interact with others as a contributing member of a close-knit team. Ability to work closely together with others, possibly of different backgrounds and interests, without friction. Works well with people. Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Aptitude to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s, performing these operations using units of time, pressure, temperature, weigh measurement, volume and distance. Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
