Salary Range: $18.50 To $25.00 Hourly
SUMMARYThe Oil-Filled Cables J-STD-001 QC Inspector is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections on cable assemblies and soldered components to ensure compliance with company, customer, and IPC/J-STD-001 Class 3 quality standards. This role requires experiences inspecting soldering workmanship, identifying defects, and accurately documenting inspection results in a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently while maintaining a high-level of accuracy and quality awareness. This position plays an important role in ensuring products meet all workmanship and customer requirements prior to shipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following is a framework of the essential duties and responsibilities for this role. Basic duties are outlined here and are not limited to this outline. Duties and responsibilities may change according to business need and other duties may be assigned.
- Inspect solder joints in accordance with IPC/J-STD-001 standards and company workmanship requirements
- Accept or reject products based on inspection criteria and quality standards
- Perform in-process and final inspections on oil-filled cable assemblies and related components
- Identify workmanship defects and communicate findings to production personnel and supervisors
- Complete inspection reports, quality documentation, and related records as required
- Complete M1 transactions and maintain accurate inspection records
- Verify products meet customer specifications, drawings, and work instructions
- Maintain organization of inspection materials and work areas
- Follow all company quality standards and safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, inspectors, and production team members
- Must be able to work a consistent schedule

- 1–3 years of quality inspection or electronic manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience working with IPC/J-STD-001 Class 3 standards preferred
- Ability to identify acceptable and nonconforming solder workmanship
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and inspection criteria
- Basic computer skills required, including the ability to navigate production systems, enter data, and use standard workplace software as needed
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Minimum of 1–3 years of related quality inspection, soldering, or electronic manufacturing experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by management.
Preferred:
- Current IPC/J-STD-001 certification
- IPC-A-610 certification preferred
- Experience in high-reliability or Class 3 manufacturing environments
- Experience performing in-process and final inspections in a manufacturing setting
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, computer data, and procedure manuals. Good written language skills are required, including the ability to write routine reports, procedures, and effective correspondence. The ability to speak effectively, and clearly so others can understand you, before individuals or groups.
