SPS provides engineered solutions built to ASME standards with an uncompromising commitment to quality, craftsmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction.

YOUR ROLE

As an In-Process Quality Control Inspector, you will ensure that stainless steel tanks, pressure vessels, process equipment, and welded assemblies are manufactured in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, ASME Code requirements, and the SPS Quality Management System. You will perform inspections at designated manufacturing hold points throughout fabrication, verifying dimensional accuracy, weld quality, workmanship, material compliance, and overall product quality before work proceeds to the next operation.

Working closely with engineering and manufacturing personnel, you will identify and resolve quality concerns early, maintain accurate inspection documentation, and help ensure every product shipped reflects the exceptional quality expected by our customers.

  • Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, height gauges, tape measures, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Conduct receiving inspection of materials and purchased components, verifying MTRs, heat-number traceability, specifications, and purchase order requirements.
  • Inspect machined components, nozzle locations, flanges, fabricated assemblies, and critical-to-quality features prior to release.
  • Verify surface finish, cleanliness, cosmetic workmanship, and overall appearance of stainless steel equipment.
  • Witness and document hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure testing when required.
  • Complete inspection buy-offs at designated manufacturing hold points.
  • Prepare accurate inspection reports, NCRs, and quality documentation.
  • Verify calibration records/labels prior to using inspection equipment.
  • Work closely with engineering, welding, fabrication, machining, polishing, shipping, and production personnel to resolve quality concerns while minimizing rework.
  • Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, and final inspection prior to shipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, or equivalent manufacturing/inspection experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years of quality inspection experience in welded fabrication, pressure vessel manufacturing, machining, or related industries.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, fabrication prints, weld symbols, and specifications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
