The general laborer supports the machine shop by working closely with the machine shop leadership and engineering team to distribute, track, and document tooling for machinists. This role requires strong organizational skills and comfort using computers to ensure accurate tooling records and efficient production support.

• Work hand in hand with machine shop leadership and engineering to coordinate tooling needs for machinists.

• Distribute tooling to machinists in a timely and accurate manner to support ongoing production.

• Track tooling usage, location, and status using computer-based documentation systems.

• Maintain detailed records of tooling inventory, movement, and changes to ensure proper control and accountability.

• Support general labor and production activities as needed within the machine shop.

• Perform cleaning tasks to help maintain a safe and organized work area.

• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively as part of daily duties.

• Assist with CNC lathe operations, including light editing and basic setup tasks as directed.

• Handle measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to support machining and quality checks.

• Follow all safety procedures when working around moving parts, hoists, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.

• High school diploma.

• 5–8 years of experience in a machine shop environment.

• Experience working in general labor and production roles.

• Ability to perform cleaning and basic maintenance tasks in an industrial setting.

• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely.

• Experience with CNC lathe operations, including light program editing.

• Ability to assist with CNC lathe setup tasks.

• Competence using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

• Strong organizational skills for managing and tracking tooling.

• Basic computer skills for documentation and tooling tracking.

• Comfort working in a large, fast-paced machine shop environment.

• Attention to detail when documenting tooling and inventory.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with machinists, engineering, and shop leadership.

• Willingness to perform a variety of general labor tasks to support production.

This role is based in a large, approximately 100,000 sq. ft. machine shop that houses over 50 CNC machines along with manual equipment. The environment can be hot at times and includes moving parts, hoists, forklifts, and other industrial equipment, requiring consistent attention to safety. Work is performed on-site in a production setting, with exposure to typical machine shop conditions such as noise and industrial activity.

This is a Permanent position based out of Oxnard, CA.

The pay range for this position is $30000.00 - $79040.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
