Travel Nurse RN – Labor and Delivery (Oxnard, CA)
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13‑week night‑shift assignment n’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, California. The position offers travel nursing support for a diverse patient population with a focus on high‑risk deliveries.
Job Details- Specialty: Labor and Delivery
- Discipline: RN
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Shift Pattern: Night shifts with every other weekend off
- Start Date: 8/3/2026
- Payment: Up to $120/hr bill rate
- Labor & Delivery: 7 beds
- Triage: 4 beds + 2 overflow beds
- Postpartum: 27 beds
- Nursery: 5 beds
- Patient Volume: Approximately 1,545 deliveries annually (~3 births per day)
- High‑risk pregnancies
- All gestational ages
- Substance withdrawal patients
- Limited/no prenatal care cases
- EMT deliveries
- Large Spanish‑speaking population
- Critical maternal/fetal cases transferred to higher‑level facilities as needed
- 2‑3 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Prior travel assignment preferred
- Postpartum experience required
- Ability to circulate C‑sections
- Scrub experience not required
- Float to Postpartum and NICU (grower/feeder infants) as needed
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other weekend
- Call:
Optional but preferred - Holiday rotation with permanent staff
- Charge Nurse on every shift
- Resource nurse for breaks
- OB Techs assist with C‑sections, deliveries, stocking, and patient intake
- Respiratory therapy available 24/7
- Pharmacy available 24/7
- Neonatologist & OB on call 24/7 (30‑minute response)
- Cerner EMR
- Fetal Link fetal monitoring system
- Phillips telemetry
- ACLS
- BLS
- NRP
- Advanced fetal monitoring (AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced)
- COVID vaccination
- 12‑hour hospital orientation
- 3 unit orientation shifts
- Navy scrubs required
- AWHONN staffing ratios apply
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment
- California license not required before start; must be obtained before assignment if offered
