Job Description
Join a Level 3b Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a 13‑week travel contract in Oxnard, California. This role involves providing specialized care to premature and critically ill newborns across a variety of gestational ages. The position features 12‑hour night shifts from 7 pm to 7 am, with a focus on managing complex cases such as premies, sepsis, cooling protocols, and substance withdrawal.
You will work alongside full‑time neonatologists and be required to attend deliveries when possible. The unit operates with a low patient‑to‑nurse ratio, offering an engaging environment for experienced NICU nurses eager to apply their skills in a busy, fast‑paced setting. This assignment offers a unique opportunity to care for newborns with diverse medical needs, including ventilated infants with Aveya, bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, and oscillators, while floating to L&D and postpartum to support maternal‑newborn care as needed.
