Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Oxnard, CA

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

• Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit managing high-risk deliveries across all gestational ages, including patients with no prenatal care and substance abuse or withdrawal presentations
• Circulate for C-section procedures in one of two dedicated C-section suites with recovery; scrubbing experience not required but circulating ability is mandatory
• Monitor fetal heart rate using Fetal Link (integrated with Cerner EMR) in accordance with AWHONN guidelines and unit ratios
• Float between Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units as needed; L&D nurses must be prepared to float to Postpartum and assist in the NICU with grower/feeder patients within scope of practice
• Collaborate with OB Techs who assist with deliveries, C-section scrubbing, supply stocking, and patient intake
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) and participate in holiday scheduling alongside permanent staff

• Current RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 2–3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification (Intermediate or Advanced level)
• Postpartum nursing experience required for L&D float capability
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR

• At least one prior travel nursing contract strongly preferred
• S.T.A.B.L.E. certification preferred
• Spanish language proficiency beneficial given patient population served
• Willingness to accept on-call shifts (optional but preferred; discussed during interview)

• Work in a well-supported unit with 24/7 access to Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, and on-call OB/Neonatology coverage, as well as dedicated OB Techs and charge/resource nurse support on every shift
• Gain experience in a dynamic, high-acuity environment managing a diverse patient population with access to Phillips telemetry and an integrated fetal monitoring system
