Overview
Grounds Supervisor positions are typically 8 hours per day, 245 workdays per year. Currently testing for an eligibility list at this time which will be used to fill vacancies for up to one year.
Purpose of Position Oversees district wide grounds, landscaping, turf, and irrigation operations to ensure safe and well-maintained outdoor environments. Establishes and implements grounds maintenance standards, schedules, and procedures; ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and integrated pest management regulations; and coordinates projects and services with site administrators and Facilities leadership, with regular field-based oversight at school sites.

Education and ExperienceEducation: Graduation from high school or equivalency. Specialized training in landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, horticulture, or a related field is desirable.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in grounds maintenance, including work involving landscaping, irrigation systems, and landscape construction and installation. At least two (2) years of this experience must have been in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Licenses and Other Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and the ability to be insured under the District’s liability insurance program. A valid California Department of Food and Agriculture Pest Control Applicator’s Permit (Class A and
B) must be obtained by the end of the probationary period. All required licenses and certificates must be maintained as a condition of employment.
This is a Dual Certification recruitment:
Candidates who attain a passing score on each examination part will be placed in rank order on an eligibility list after promotional credits are added to the composite test scores of promotional candidates. These examinations are open to permanent employees and the public.
