Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager

Location:

San Miguel Produce (Oxnard, CA)

Shift: Day

The role supports the Director of Production Operations by ensuring day‑to‑day compliance, leading QA/QC teams, and driving the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of food safety and quality systems across field and facility operations.

• Four‑year degree in Biology, Food Science, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of related experience in food safety, quality assurance, or produce industry.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of food safety systems including HACCP, FSMA, Preventive Controls, GMPs, GAP, SSOP, and GFSI standards.
• Experience with environmental monitoring programs and microbiological testing.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, LGMA, USDA).
• Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, food safety manuals, and product specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and QA/QC systems (Safety Culture, Highland Hub, GIS, Famous Software).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, auditors, and customers.
• Must be able to travel as needed between fields and facilities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record.
• Must pass pre‑placement drug/alcohol screen, physical, and functional capacity evaluation.

• HACCP, PCQI, SQF Practitioner, or equivalent certifications.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and general labor regulations.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

• Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, based on education, experience, skills, and market data.
