Environmental Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator
Advanced Structural Technologies (AST) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator to support our commitment to maintaining a compliant workplace. This position is responsible for conducting routine safety inspections, identifying workplace hazards, monitoring compliance with company safety policies and regulations, and partnering with department managers to ensure timely corrective action.
The ideal candidate enjoys being on the manufacturing floor, has a strong attention to detail, and is comfortable communicating with employees and leaders to help foster a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits throughout all manufacturing departments to identify workplace hazards and compliance concerns.
- Document inspection findings, issue internal safety citations or corrective action notices, and follow up to ensure hazards are resolved.
- Partner with supervisors and managers to address safety concerns and improve compliance with company safety policies and PPE requirements.
- Assist with recordkeeping, regulatory documentation, and tracking safety inspections, corrective actions, and safety metrics.
- Participate in accident and near-miss investigations by gathering information and recommending corrective actions.
- Assist with new hire safety orientations, safety training, and Safety Committee initiatives.
- Inspect emergency equipment, safety signage, eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, and other safety systems to ensure compliance.
- Stay current on regulations and support continuous improvement of AST’s workplace safety programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally address safety concerns to management & maintenance personnel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently while building positive working relationships across departments.
- Ability to walk production areas for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE.

Job Type & Pay
- Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person
- Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
- Schedule:
Monday – Friday (day shift) - Expected
Hours:
40+ hours per week with occasional overtime
