Under direct supervision, the Bulk Deli Cheese Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. The position assists customers, cleans, fills, and rotates the cheese and deli displays in the Bulk Deli.
The role consists of two different shifts. The morning shift begins the day replenishing product, as instructed by the Bulk Deli Manager or Assistant Bulk Deli Manager, in a specifically assigned area. Across all shifts the clerk assists customers and maintains the cleanliness of the department throughout the shift. The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store; essential functions include lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling, as well as visual and auditory tasks.
Qualifications- Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift up to 45 pounds; occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
- Basic PC/Outlook skills (desired).
- Retail Management Certificate (desired).
- Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification.
