Data AnalystLocation: Oxon Hill, Maryland (Hybrid)
Role OverviewWe are seeking a Data Analyst to support reporting, analytics, and data visualization activities. This role requires a well‑rounded individual who can handle dashboarding, exploratory data analysis, and troubleshooting existing reports. The position will focus on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing reporting and analytics solutions, with opportunities for new development over time.
Key Responsibilities- Support and maintain system permissions from various field locations.
- Enable automation in reporting by collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and system administrators.
- Work directly with databases to validate data, investigate issues, and support reporting needs.
- Perform data analysis and visualization using tools such as Power BI.
- Analyze data reports to meet organizational reporting requirements.
- Support, maintain, and troubleshoot existing reporting and analytics solutions.
- Conduct exploratory and ad-hoc data analysis to provide insights.
- Utilize Excel for analysis, validation, and day‑to‑day business support.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required. Candidates without a degree may be considered with 12 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience: A minimum of 6 years of relevant data analysis experience is required.
Citizenship: United States citizenship is required.
Technical
Skills:
- Demonstrated experience with data analysis and visualization tools, with a preference for Power BI.
- Strong SQL skills for working directly with databases to validate data and investigate issues.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, macros, and charting.
- Strong understanding of data integration and database management principles.
- Experience in IT operations trend analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Python for data analysis using libraries such as Num Py and pandas.
- Previous experience in a public sector or government environment.
