Career Coach (Professional Development Focus) – Prince George’s County District 8 Youth & Young Adults Jobs Program
Joan’s House Inc. is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Career Coach to support our Youth & Young Adults Jobs Program. This part-time hybrid role combines career coaching, professional development partnerships, and partnership management to ensure job seekers (ages 15–24) and employer partners have a positive, successful experience. The Career Coach will help youth navigate their job placements, support partner compliance, and assist with grant reporting.

- Location:
Oxon Hill, MD (Hybrid) The expectation will be to be in office 2-3 days a week and other responsibilities will be remote or ad hoc for events, as needed and discussed in advance. - Salary: $27 per hour

- Career Coaching & Participant Support
- Organizing and maintaining community partners to conduct professional development workshop
- Maintaining the professional development calendar
- Manage a caseload of youth and young adult participants (ages 15–24).
- Conduct regular check-ins with participants to assess job satisfaction and resolve workplace challenges.
- Facilitate job readiness coaching on professionalism and workplace navigation.
- Escalate participant issues or site concerns to the Program Director.
- Track and report participant outcomes for grant and program purposes.
- Support partners in navigating the jobs portal and maintaining compliance.
- Attend events representing Joan’s House and its employment initiatives.
- Assist with data collection and reporting for grants, funders, and stakeholders.
- Help coordinate youth employment events, workshops, and orientations.
- Support ongoing improvement of participant and partner engagement.
- Attend team meetings and participate in professional development.
- Contribute to occasional cross-functional tasks in a small, collaborative team environment.
- Uphold Joan’s House Inc.’s mission to empower youth through workforce development.
- Experience in workforce development, career counseling, or youth programs.
- Familiarity with business engagement, HR, or employer relations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational, communication, and reporting skills.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, or other design tools (a plus).
- Experience working with youth or young adults (ages 15–24) preferred.
- Must pass a youth-serving background check.
- Must attend in-person meetings, workshops, and events.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional evenings or weekends required for program events.
