An exciting opportunity is available for a Utility Clerk in the Ozark, AL area.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service by answering questions and processing requests related to municipal services in person or by phone.
  • Accept and process payments including cash, checks, credit cards, vouchers, and other negotiable instruments for account deposits and bill payments.
  • Issue receipts and ensure accurate documentation of all transactions.
  • Assist customers by providing information, resolving concerns, and explaining policies or procedures.
  • Balance daily cash receipts and reconcile payments with register tapes and records.
  • Prepare form letters, maintain records, and compile reports or lists as needed.
  • Initiate work orders for service connections and disconnections.
  • Calculate applicable fees and charges and complete required paperwork.
  • Provide support to the billing department as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized customer service area.
  • Utilize computer systems for daily tasks and recordkeeping.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience handling cash transactions is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in payment collection, clerical accounting, or a general office environment.
  • Strong basic math skills with the ability to quickly and accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to process and count cash accurately.
  • Good decision‑making skills and the ability to follow established policies and procedures.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working with computers and office systems.
  • Previous teller experience is a plus.
