Overview
The Test Engineer II is an experienced professional responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test plans and strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of software, hardware, or other products. They work closely with the development team to identify and resolve any issues or bugs in the product.
Essential Requirements- Must possess the appropriate level of certifications for this position as required by the contract.
- Ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the Secret level.
- Bachelor's degree and two to four (2‑4) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements.
- Conduct functional, regression, performance, and security testing on software applications.
- Identify and report defects or issues found during testing and track them to resolution.
- Collaborate with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues.
- Participate in test plan reviews and provide feedback for improvements.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using testing tools.
- Conduct compatibility testing on different platforms, browsers, and devices.
- Perform root‑cause analysis of defects and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Mentor junior test engineers and provide guidance on testing best practices.
- Stay updated with the latest testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.
Work is performed in an office environment. The role requires primarily sitting, using hands to handle objects and operate tools, computers, and controls, speaking and hearing. Occasionally the employee may stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds routinely and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
