This position is Contingent Upon Contract Award.
Leads all aspects of the maintenance and repair operations, ensuring strict compliance with FAA regulations and quality standards. Key responsibilities include managing staff and resources, overseeing maintenance and flight line operations, ensuring regulatory adherence, acting as the accountable manager to the FAA, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency, and maintaining fiscal responsibility. The Director of Maintenance (DOM) must also maintain strong communication with clients, interface with the Army / customer on contract performance metrics, develop strategic objectives, and drive continuous improvement within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage maintenance and flight line operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to quality standards.
- Act as the accountable manager to the FAA, maintaining all required certifications and documentation.
- Lead and develop maintenance staff, ensuring optimal resource allocation and performance.
- Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Maintain fiscal responsibility, including budgeting and cost control for maintenance operations.
- Interface with the Army / customer on contract performance metrics, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations.
- Develop and implement strategic objectives to enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain strong communication with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and collaboration.
Required Certifications & Qualifications
- Extensive experience in aircraft maintenance management, preferably in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, quality control standards, and maintenance best practices.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience interfacing with military or government customers is highly desirable.
Preferred Certifications & Qualifications
- Inspection Authorization (IA) certification.
- Experience with military or government aviation training programs.
- Familiarity with Flight School Next or similar pilot training initiatives.
- PMP or equivalent program management certification.
FAA regulatory / compliance training.
Production control / logistics certification (e.g., APICS/CPIM, or equivalent).
OSHA 10 or Safety training.
- Excellent communication and customer service; able to coordinate across multiple teams and disciplines.
- Detail oriented with high accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Strong organizational, time management and follow up skills. Able to prioritize competing demands.
- Problem-solving mindset; budgetary management.
- Professional judgement, discretion, and results oriented.
Clearance Requirement
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance as required by the contract (Public Trust or Secret level, as applicable).
Work Conditions
- Primarily office / production-support setting with frequent interaction with multiple departments and shared services.
