POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring all products incoming and outgoing within the facility meets the applicable quality standard set forth by governing bodies, suppliers, engineering, quality, and design. This includes troubleshooting, testing, and validating components in manufacturing and in the field while collaborating with inventory control, quality, engineering, suppliers, and production teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Drives component and process improvements to improve quality.
  • Review all quality related findings and utilize practical problem‑solving techniques to find and document root cause and corrective actions.
  • Maintain/Update/Develop all pertinent quality documents for the plant.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Audits processes and components to ensure design engineering and quality standards are met.
  • Work in conjunction with supply chain, engineering, and suppliers to address quality concerns and improve component reliability.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Production to develop and validate new processes.
  • Collect, interpret, and document data to support quality improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure all quality assurance equipment is up to date, calibrated, and follows a calibration schedule.
  • Assist in reviewing new product designs and manufacturing processes from a quality perspective.
  • Provide technical support and training to quality and production teams.
  • Summarizes Improvements Using Power Point.
  • All other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum degree required:
    Bachelor or Science in Engineering or Technical related field (extensive experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree)
  • Previous manufacturing and quality experience, preferred.
  • Six Sigma / Lean experience, preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
  • Excel, Power Point, and Word experience required.
  • Strong organizational abilities in record keeping, filing and document preparation.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and report data accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Welding, material science, and powder paint knowledge a plus.
  • Sharp production focus with a drive for accurate and timely results.
  • Ability to manipulate tools and assembly components involving fine and gross motor skills sufficient to demonstrate the job.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical, negotiation, problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be hands‑on and self‑directed.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Regularly walks, sits, and stands.

Occasionally works on a computer or lifts up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT

Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
