Research & Development Associate II

Responsible for performing research activities, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing reports. Work closely with a team of scientists, engineers, or technicians to conduct experiments, analyze data, and contribute to overall R&D efforts.

• Assist in planning and execution of research projects or experiments.
• Conduct literature reviews and gather relevant information on a specific area of research.
• Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses or validate new ideas.
• Gather data through various methods, such as experiments, surveys or interviews.
• Analyze data to identify patterns and interpret findings.
• Prepare technical reports or provide content to technical reports outlining research, outcomes, and/or observations.
• Communicate with stakeholders on progress; manage risk.
• Maintain attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data and findings.
• Assist in development or improvement of products, processes, or technologies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
• Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and propose solutions.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field through literature review or attending conferences.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

• Must possess appropriate level of certifications as required by contract.
• Must obtain and maintain required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment, and property.
• Must have an understanding of the field of expertise and possess scientific or technical knowledge with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project‑management skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two to four (2‑4) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Require frequent sitting, use of hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. May stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
