  • The Electronics Technician Maintenance II applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
Responsibilities
  • Perform Field and Sustainment Level maintenance such as, but not limited to troubleshooting equipment, diagnosing systems malfunctions, identifying corrective actions on servicing or repairs on military and commercial equipment as prescribed in the equipment Technical Manuals (TM's), Commercial Equipment Manuals, and all other applicable manuals.
  • Perform repairs, troubleshoot, and restore the Integrated Commercial Intrusion Detection System (ICIDS), Emergency Radios and similar type equipment to an operational status.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of the Integrated Commercial Intrusion Detection System (ICIDS) Alarms, in accordance with applicable regulations, technical specifications and local policy.
  • Ensure all repairs are in accordance with the original equipment manufacturers specifications or in accordance with local guidance. Request for repairs will be submitted by DPS.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting highly complex electronic equipment and systems in one or more of the following work situations
  • Perform In-service equipment undergoing extensive modification to the extent that it is equivalent to new equipment systems.
  • Accomplish modifications and conduct tests to verify that equipment meets required parameters and to prove the modification.
  • Repair and overhaul (pilot overhaul) of complex in-service electronic systems which are newly assigned to the depot.
  • Study available specifications and procedures, select test equipment required to assure correct repair and operation of the equipment and conducts a complete series of tests to accomplish overhaul/maintenance procedures using digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, oscilloscopes, and Automated Test Equipment. Equipment includes radar, radio, counter measure, meteorological, intrusion detection, etc.
  • Apply technical knowledge to perform tasks to repair equipment to standard.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Test faulty equipment, electronic components, circuits to locate defects and applies knowledge of functional operation using Automated/Programmable Test Sets, oscilloscopes, signal generators, ammeters, voltmeters and use of schematic diagrams for electronic units and systems to diagnose cause of malfunction.
  • Test, troubleshoot, install, and repair mobile and standard electronics equipment (e.g., receiver / transmitters commercial and tactical, radar, telecommunications devices, telephones, teletypes, and COMSEC/controlled cryptographic devices.
  • Perform maintenance tasks required in applicable equipment technical manuals for the calibration and maintenance of vehicle speed radar devices.
  • Perform all services, repairs, and modifications required to install and remove electronic aftermarket equipment required for operation of Fort Rucker Military Police vehicles. Equipment supported includes, radar, the Eyewitness System, special lighting systems (light bars, wigwag lights, etc.), specialized communications equipment, and any additional approved installation on approved emergency or service vehicles/equipment.
  • Perform repairs, troubleshoot, and restore Emergency Radios and similar type equipment to an operational status.
  • Perform the 180-day inspection, troubleshooting, disassembly, cleaning, repair, replacement of defective parts, purging and all maintenance up to depot level in accordance with appropriate publication, to include instruction, training, and certification of unit maintenance personnel and others as required.
  • Complete unit, DS, and GS maintenance for Night Vision Goggles (NVGs).
  • Perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
