Title: Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP)/ Free Pre K Associate Teacher
Job Location: Early Childhood Center
Reports to: Early Childhood Director
Job Type: Full-Time / Non-Exempt
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Early Childhood or Child Development or
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required
- Ability to comply within 3 years
- Must meet state qualifications to work directly with students
- CPR, First Aid, and CPI certified, or willingness to obtain
- Proven track record of good attendance in previous roles
- Experience working with and caring for young children from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
Job Description:
- Assist in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the Lead Teacher
- Supervise the classroom in the teacher's presence and/or absence
- Assist with the general housekeeping and food preparation tasks
- Attend all meetings, recommended training programs, and professional development as required by GSRP guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality about children and their families
- Supervise and participate in indoor/outdoor play
- Participating in in-home visits with the Lead Teacher upon request, hours are flexible
- Work cooperatively with administration, teachers, parents, and staff by maintaining a pleasant personality and displaying strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Maintain a safe, organized, inclusive, and positive classroom environment, and be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and the program
- Assist in cleaning and sanitizing tasks required by Michigan State Licensing for Child Care Centers
- Observe and document children's progress and assist with assessments
- Assist with Friday care students as needed
- Perform other duties as determined by the director and/or designee
Salary/Benefits: Starting at $15.25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
