Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Ozark, Missouri

Bring your passion for supporting students with hearing challenges to a contract opportunity near Ozark, MO, working with junior high and elementary learners. This is a part-time position tailored for educators dedicated to making a difference as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) across two elementary schools and one junior high site. You'll have the chance to employ innovative strategies and specialized instruction to foster inclusivity and achievement for students with hearing impairments.

Qualifications:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Experience working with elementary and/or junior high students preferred
• Strong understanding of educational and communication accommodations for students with hearing loss
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modes is highly regarded
• Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively as part of an educational team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across the assigned school sites
• Develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to implement accommodations and strategies
• Track student progress, maintain thorough documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
• Provide guidance and resources to families and colleagues regarding best practices in deaf education
• Create a positive, supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and growth
