Responsibilities
The Plant Operator is responsible for efficient operations in Paint and Thermo Plastic. Responsibilities include understanding and executing production tasks such as the conversion process, extrusion, PLC programming screens, die boards, cut plans, wrapping, forklift operations, packaging, shipping, and receiving. The operator must operate the machinery according to the operation manual, best practices, and directions provided, perform maintenance, troubleshooting, quality control, and set proper calibrations.
Required skills include basic math comprehension (e.g., convert inches to feet) and use of handheld tools such as a tape measure. Operators must follow directives from the production scheduler, lead, or manager, keep up with departmental and procedural changes, train other personnel on machine operation, comply with company policies, maintain a safe environment, and perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead or Plant Manager.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience preferred
- Must be able and willing to follow directions
- Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs and stand for up to 11 hours daily
- Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical parts, and vibration
