Geophysicist - Seismic Interpretation

About the Role

Our client is actively recruiting a talented Geophysicist specializing in seismic interpretation to join their team near Paarl. This role is critical for identifying and delineating subsurface structures and strati graphic features indicative of hydrocarbon potential. You will utilize advanced seismic data processing and interpretation techniques, working closely with geologists and reservoir engineers to build integrated subsurface models. • Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify and map geological structures, horizons, and faults.
• Perform seismic attribute analysis and inversion to enhance subsurface understanding.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geological information.
• Collaborate with geological and reservoir engineering teams to develop prospect evaluations and development plans.
• Contribute to the generation and ranking of exploration and appraisal drilling targets.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in seismic data interpretation for oil and gas exploration.
• Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Opend Tect).
• Strong understanding of seismic processing principles and geological concepts.
