About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Telecommunications Field Technician to join their team based in Paarl . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites and company infrastructure locations. You will ensure that services are delivered efficiently and effectively, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

This is a field-based position that requires excellent technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while representing the company professionally.

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, modems, and customer premises equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and repair faults in communication systems, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Respond to service calls and emergency repair requests promptly.
• Document all service activities, including work performed and equipment status.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures during all field operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics or telecommunications is advantageous.
• 2+ years of experience as a Field Technician in the telecom industry .
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
• Strong understanding of network cabling, copper, and fiber optic installations.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
