About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join their Installation & Maintenance team in Paarl, Western Cape . This role focuses on the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, including network cabling, hardware, and related systems. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable communication services for clients, diagnosing technical issues, and implementing effective solutions. The ideal candidate is proficient in networking technologies and possesses excellent diagnostic skills.
This hands-on role is essential for maintaining the connectivity and communication needs of businesses in the Paarl region.
- Install, test, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, modems, and cabling systems.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, hardware malfunctions, and system performance problems.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on telecommunications infrastructure.
- Read and interpret network diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all installations and repairs comply with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on telecommunications systems.
- Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or in a related networking role.
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, network protocols, and hardware.
- Proficiency in using network diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues efficiently.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- A valid driver's license is required for travel to client sites in and around Paarl .
