Job Description

Asilomar is located on the Monterey Peninsula in charming Pacific Grove, California. Its restored dune ecosystem and its historic “Arts and Crafts” style architecture (designed by the world-renowned Julia Morgan) come together to make Asilomar a designated National Historic Landmark. The 107 acres of beachfront property provide endless breathtaking views and opportunities for marine wildlife watching, golfing, and meeting and conference spaces, creating a meditative, restorative, and grounding place to work.

Under the direction of the Guest Service Manager, the Guest Services Supervisor is responsible for the work that is carried out within the Guest Services Department, coordinating Guest Services at the conference center so that staff members and guests experience a positive impression of the facility.

Compensation Data

Hourly rate: $23.50 to $25.00.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervises Guest Services Support Staff in providing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week coverage.
  • Coordinates registration functions and transportation for all guests.
  • Trains Front Desk/Concierge personnel using training programs established in conjunction with Aramark and conference center clients.
  • Oversees front desk and concierge tasks to ensure world‑class service in the following areas: check‑in/check‑out functions, execution of the Lobby Ambassador Program, guest orientation of the local area and conference center facilities, proper telephone service technique and PBX operation, handling of guest mail, messages and special deliveries, reservation of guest transportation, use of the property management system, night audit function, and assistance of guests in any way possible, including timely follow‑up on guest concerns.
  • Maintains a limited supply of sundries and restocks as necessary.
  • Issues and monitors safe deposit boxes.
  • Opens and closes support staff cashier banks.
  • Designs and implements training programs to ensure all staff are well‑versed in daily job functions, safety awareness, and Aramark policies and procedures.
  • Orders, stores, and inventories supplies necessary to perform daily operations.
  • Communicates closely with all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Establishes, implements, and follows all emergency procedures.
  • Performs any or all other duties as assigned by Guest Services Manager.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing world‑class service to clients, guests, and co‑workers.
  • Strong knowledge of personal computers.
  • Experience in all facets of providing guest services.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with others.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Preferably two years in hospitality services or a similar environment performing duties as Guest Services or Concierge supervisor.
  • Must be able to read, write, and clearly speak English.
