Maintenance Assistant / Janitor role at Front Porch Communities & Services.

Schedule:

Tuesday and Friday from 9am-5pm and Monday-Wednesday-Thursday, 1pm-5pm. Hourly range: $19.00-$20.00.

• Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors to ensure satisfaction.
• Cleans windows, washes walls, moves furniture, hangs pictures and mirrors, sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other areas as assigned.
• Sweeps and hoses carports, patios, sidewalks and dumpster areas or other common areas as assigned.
• Restocks supplies, soap and sanitizers in restrooms and kitchenettes.
• Gathers and empties trash throughout campus and offices.
• Sets up and takes down tables and chairs for daily and/or special events.
• Keeps equipment clean and in good order; reports when maintenance is needed and completes work orders as necessary.
• Assists in arranging furniture for residents during moves when furnishings are not too large or heavy.
• Attends mandatory in-service meetings; complies with department and facility policies and procedures.
• Follows highest standards of cleanliness and all applicable policies, health codes and guidelines.
• Follows department safety standards and participates in safety programs; wears PPE as required; reports safety hazards or accidents.
• Performs duties safely and efficiently.

• High School diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to add, subtract, and understand basic math; ability to use units of American money, weight, volume and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions; ability to handle standardized situations with minimal variables.

• Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
• Occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds with assistance.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and exposure to chemicals; noise level is usually moderate.
