Overview
Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, nursing supervisor, and/or charge nurse, the Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for planning, directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. Important dimensions of the role include quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations, and a broad nursing knowledge.
ResponsibilitiesThe Perioperative Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering direct nursing care to all patient populations in OPSC during hours on duty. The Perioperative Registered Nurse possesses skills and knowledge to competently provide appropriate nursing care within the OPSC care areas of Admitting, PACU, and/or Endoscopy. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting pre-procedure interviews
- Preparing patients for surgery and procedures
- Assisting in endoscopy procedures
- Reprocessing GI scopes
- Recovering post procedure patients
- Taking call per hospital on-call policy guidelines
- At least three years medical surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital or multispecialty outpatient surgery center
- Minimum one year of Telemetry experience
- Critical care experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
- State of California RN license required
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required
- ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained prior to completion orientation and independent assignment

Full Time 1.0 FTE/10-hr shift Variable shifts - Position Type:
Regular - Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience): $72.83 to $97.40
- Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $5.50
- Hourly Night Shift Differential: $8.00
