One Source Employment Solutions is hiring three experienced Carpenters for a unique restoration project at the historic Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California.
This is an opportunity to work on some of California’s most distinctive historic architecture while helping preserve buildings that have stood for more than a century.
We are looking for skilled carpenters who take pride in craftsmanship, pay close attention to detail, and are comfortable working carefully around historic building materials and existing architectural features.
What You’ll DoCarpenters will perform a variety of restoration, repair, and general carpentry work on historic buildings throughout the Asilomar property.
Responsibilities may include:- Repairing and restoring existing wood building components
- Performing finish and general carpentry
- Repairing or replacing damaged wood while maintaining the appearance of existing structures
- Working on doors, windows, trim, siding, framing, railings, and other architectural wood elements
- Measuring, cutting, fitting, assembling, and installing wood materials
- Removing deteriorated materials carefully to protect surrounding historic components
- Matching new repairs to existing construction whenever possible
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and accurately
- Following project plans, instructions, and historic-preservation requirements
- Working collaboratively with supervisors, preservation staff, and other trades
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Following all jobsite and OSHA safety requirements
Required:
- Professional carpentry experience
- Strong knowledge of standard carpentry tools, materials, and techniques
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and install materials
- Experience using common hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and jobsite safety procedures
- Reliable transportation to Pacific Grove, CA
- Dependable attendance and professional conduct
- Historic restoration or preservation
- Wood repair and restoration
- Window and door restoration
- Exterior siding and trim
- Custom or architectural woodworking
- Older residential, commercial, or institutional buildings
Historic-preservation experience is a plus, but experienced carpenters with strong craftsmanship and an interest in restoration work are encouraged to apply.

Compensation:$35.00–$45.00 per hour
Final pay rate will be based on the candidates carpentry experience, restoration experience, and overall qualifications.

- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb
- Work from ladders and other approved elevated work surfaces when required
- Safely lift and carry construction materials and tools
- Perform physical carpentry work throughout the workday
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying coastal weather conditions
