Qualifications/Desired
Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential (or eligibility for certification)
- Previous experience working with students in special education programs
- Strong knowledge of IEP process, documentation, and implementation
- Dedication to differentiated instruction and adaptive teaching methods
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Compassion, patience, and creativity in meeting diverse student needs
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans tailored to students unique learning needs and abilities
- Manage caseloads and facilitate the IEP process, including assessment, goal setting, and progress monitoring
- Modify curriculum and provide accommodations to ensure access to core content
- Create a supportive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Foster positive relationships with students, building self-esteem and encouraging independence
- Regularly communicate with parents, support staff, and administration regarding student progress and strategies
- Stay current on best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development
