Special Education Teacher

Qualifications/Desired

Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching credential (or eligibility for certification)
• Previous experience working with students in special education programs
• Strong knowledge of IEP process, documentation, and implementation
• Dedication to differentiated instruction and adaptive teaching methods
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Compassion, patience, and creativity in meeting diverse student needs

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans tailored to students unique learning needs and abilities
• Manage caseloads and facilitate the IEP process, including assessment, goal setting, and progress monitoring
• Modify curriculum and provide accommodations to ensure access to core content
• Create a supportive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
• Foster positive relationships with students, building self-esteem and encouraging independence
• Regularly communicate with parents, support staff, and administration regarding student progress and strategies
• Stay current on best practices in special education and participate in ongoing professional development
