Senior Oracle Developer San Mateo, CA (Hybrid – 3 days in office) Job Description

Support and enhance the company's PLMs (Product Lifecycle Management) physical data models deployed on Oracle. Design and develop applications by devising optimal data models and efficient PL/SQL code, reviewing schema objects and SQL code, refactoring poorly performing SQL, tuning database performance, and writing high‑quality SQL and PL/SQL to implement new product features. Participate in a scrum‑based, collaborative development process.

• Ability to commute to the office 3 days a week in San Mateo.
• US Citizenship is required.
• Design and develop cloud‑based applications using Oracle involving online and batch mode transaction processing.
• Write PL/SQL stored procedures and SQL queries to implement and maintain product features.
• Design and develop applications for high‑availability systems.
• Development experience in three‑tier architecture to provide database support for applications that use Java/J2EE technologies.
• Experience developing applications in Unix or Linux environments, including shell scripting, and using source code control tools such as git or svn.
• Write detailed technical design documents, explain the data model, and provide detailed comments in software code.
• Communicate software design to development team members and collaborate with functional leaders to understand business requirements and explain designed behavior to cross‑functional team members and management.
• Support and enhance physical data models deployed on Oracle; design and develop database schema objects; design database package procedures to maintain database tables.
• Conduct technical reviews of SQL code and participate in design reviews.
• Perform Oracle database performance tuning activities, including tuning SQL queries and database applications.
• Review AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports to identify database bottlenecks and implement performance improvements.
• Maintain existing product release code and address bugs and enhancements in a timely manner.
• Participate in a scrum‑based development process.
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field plus five years of experience in the relevant field.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $125,500 – $170,000. Salary may vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additional compensation could include performance‑based bonus and equity programs.
