The Southern Oregon Education Service District Student Behavioral Health and Wellness team is seeking to hire a Behavior Support Coach to work with component school districts within the region to help students develop essential social, emotional, and behavioral skills. Behavior Support Coaches work directly with students to strengthen self‑awareness, self‑management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision‑making. Behavior Support Coaches also promote healthy school cultures and assist school staff in creating environmental conditions that foster engagement, learning, and well‑being.

The Behavior Support Coach collaborates with school staff to help students develop essential social, emotional, and behavioral skills. The focus is on explicitly teaching competencies such as self‑awareness, self‑management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision‑making. This position also assists school staff in creating environmental conditions that foster engagement, learning, and well‑being by integrating SEL into academics, classroom routines, and systems of support.
The Behavior Support Coach promotes a healthy school culture through practicing and modeling adult SEL and provides direct, targeted support for students with high behavioral needs using strength‑based, trauma‑informed, and culturally responsive approaches. The role also contributes to inclusive practices that enhance academic and personal growth for all students.
