Adjunct instructors are responsible for planning and teaching courses with their field, as well as maintaining appropriate records and open lines of communication with students to support their academic success.
Minimum QualificationsGeneral Education Courses Designed for Transfer
Faculty should possess a doctorate or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
Technical Courses Not Designed for Transfer
Faculty should possess a baccalaureate or associate degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. In lieu of the associate degree, alternative qualifications such as related work experience in the field, professional licensure and certifications related to the teaching assignment, honors and awards, continuing professional development, documented excellence in teaching, and/or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes will be considered.
Studio Art Courses
Faculty should possess a Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. In lieu of the degree, alternative qualifications such as related work experience in the field, honors and awards, continuing professional development, documented excellence in teaching, and/or other demonstrated artistic competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes will be considered.
Preferred QualificationsCollege teaching experience with demonstrated effectiveness and experience working with community college students.
