Tutor
Assist in the implementation of education programs by providing academic tutoring to students.
Representative duties include:
- Providing appropriate learning materials and experience for participants.
- Assisting students in small group or one-on-one sessions to enhance their education and provide support in achieving learning objectives set by the school.
- Assessing the students' progress throughout tutoring sessions and adjusting instructional methods and content focus as necessary.
- Providing adult supports, activities, and sessions.
- Participating in tutor training and development sessions.
- Maintaining accurate records and providing data to appropriate personnel.
- Treating all individuals with fairness, dignity, and respect.
- Adhering to SBDM and McCracken County Public School Board policies and procedures.
- Performing related duties as assigned.
- Maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
- Maintaining a professional and appropriate appearance.
- Adhering to the Professional Code of Ethics.
Knowledge and abilities include:
- Basic instructional methods and techniques.
- Basic learning theory applicable to the student group served.
- Students with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.
- Basic subjects taught in District schools including arithmetic, reading, writing, grammar, and spelling.
- Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
- Classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct.
- Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities.
- Applicable sections of Kentucky Administrative Regulations and other applicable laws.
- Health and safety regulations.
Ability to:
- Provide instruction working with children with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to (continued):
- Maintain routine records.
- Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of program rules, regulations, requirements and restrictions.
- Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
- Plan and organize work.

Certified:
Valid Kentucky teaching certificate
