Associate Consultant at Coalesce Management Consulting Overview
The Senior Project Manager will lead development-phase activities for Transmission Line and Transmission Substation capital projects. The role oversees roughly 10 projects at varying stages of scope definition, ranging from $100K to $30M, and focuses on project scoping, feasibility, estimating, scheduling coordination, and cross‑functional alignment. The PM works closely with project controls, construction, environmental, ROW, procurement, and internal stakeholders to reduce risk, improve project readiness, and minimize field change orders before execution.
Key Responsibilities- Lead early‑stage development and scoping for Transmission Line and Substation projects, including rebuilds, replacements, upgrades, and greenfield/brownfield work across 69kV–345kV systems.
- Coordinate and run project kickoff meetings, gather scope inputs from all stakeholders, and ensure alignment across construction, project controls, environmental, ROW, procurement, and internal support teams.
- Drive the development of complete project packages that identify scope, risks, permitting needs, site constraints, and schedule expectations to minimize downstream change orders.
- Support cost estimating, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and schedule interpretation in partnership with an assigned Project Controls Specialist.
- Oversee quality and completeness of deliverables prepared by contractors and external partners.
- Manage roughly 10 projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines, documentation, and milestone reviews are met.
- Maintain strong communication with leadership, provide progress updates, elevate risks, and keep all stakeholders aligned throughout the development cycle.
- Minimum 3+ years of Project Management experience (5+ years preferred), within a utility or EPC environment supporting transmission or large infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing project development, scope definition, budgeting, and early‑phase planning for complex capital projects.
- Ability to coordinate multiple work streams and manage projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 (review/interpretation level).
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to drive alignment across multiple departments.
- Comfortable working in a structured utility setting where process, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration are critical.
