Job Description

We are seeking energetic, passionate people who want to play a key role for the position of Natural Resources Engineer 2 within the Office of Coastal Management
, headquartered in Erie County
. The address is 1031 Pierce St, Ste F, Sandusky, Ohio 44870
.

What you will do:

  • Review applications for permits and leases for Lake Erie access and erosion control projects including detailed construction/engineering plans and specifications.
  • Perform site visits to assess site conditions and inspect coastal structures and coastal restorations.
  • Provide guidance to Lake Erie coastal property owners and lake‑front communities related to lake access, erosion mitigation, and best management practices.
  • Perform education and outreach to community officials, technical professionals, and residents regarding coastal hazards, nature‑based shorelines, and coastal management concepts.
  • Starting hourly pay of $33.52/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 7.5 years of service, with an end salary of $49.18/hr.
  • There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to the OCSEA pay range schedule and longevity rates.

Qualifications

Engineering degree from a recognized school or college accredited by the accreditation board for engineering & technology AND valid certificate as Engineer‑In‑Training issued by State Licensing Board AND 1 year engineering related experience.
