William Charles Electric, a Mas Tec Company, is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to support the project team with documentation and QA/QC activities for multiple projects. The role works closely with site superintendents to optimize labor, equipment, and subcontractors.

Location & Travel: The position requires travel across the Midwest to project sites. Eligible candidates must be able to travel up to 75% of the time (about 3 weeks or 15 days per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles, or public transportation, and must be able to lodge in public facilities. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided, and designated per diem support is offered.

• Prepare scheduling of subcontractors on site
• Receive and verify quality of materials
• Complete QA/QC checklists
• Manage submittals for material approvals
• Handle RFIs for general questions
• Prepare official project documents and route them for final approval
• Generate project reports as needed
• Maintain backup documentation
• Close out final quantities
• Propose and negotiate extra work
• Participate in special projects within the Project Management function as necessary
• Perform other duties assigned by the Project Management Department

• High School diploma or equivalent required;
  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 2 to 4 years of Medium/High Voltage substation and transmission line construction experience or knowledge of construction techniques, estimating, and construction management.

• Experience with Project Management systems such as Procore, Build2
  
  Win, MS Project, P6, and HCSS.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand contracts.
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Functional knowledge of job cost accounting.
• Understanding of CPM scheduling.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
