You will be joining us at a pivotal stage of one of North America's most significant industrial developments. Mesabi Metallics is developing Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and Integrated Steel Plant that will strengthen the U.S. low-carbon metallics supply chain. The project is envisioned as a next-generation metallics and steel manufacturing hub supporting the rapidly growing Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steel sector.

Position Summary Mesabi Metallics is seeking an experienced Package Coordinator to support the successful execution of assigned engineering and equipment packages for the Company's Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and Integrated Steel Plant project. Reporting directly to the Engineering Lead, this role will serve as the primary coordinator responsible for managing assigned packages throughout the project lifecycle, from engineering and procurement through fabrication, delivery, construction support, and commissioning.

The Package Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring assigned packages are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications. This position will collaborate closely with engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, project controls, quality, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless execution and timely resolution of technical and commercial issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate assigned equipment and engineering packages from design through commissioning
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned package vendors, engineering teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables to support procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning activities
  • Monitor package schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure alignment with overall project objectives
  • Support technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and equipment submittal approvals
  • Coordinate vendor activities, including design reviews, inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and equipment delivery
  • Identify package execution risks and develop mitigation plans to maintain project schedule and budget
  • Support procurement activities by coordinating technical requirements and resolving vendor inquiries
  • Work closely with construction teams to resolve technical issues and facilitate field execution
  • Ensure vendor documentation, drawings, manuals, and turnover packages are complete and delivered in accordance with project requirements
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular status updates on assigned packages
  • Promote compliance with company safety standards, quality requirements, engineering specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline preferred
  • 8+ years of experience coordinating engineering, equipment, or construction packages on large industrial capital projects
  • Demonstrated experience supporting EPC or EPCM project execution
  • Experience supporting steel, mining, metals, manufacturing, energy, chemical processing, or other heavy industrial projects preferred
