General Summary/Purpose

The Director of Consumer and Mortgage Relationships is responsible for leading the sales and production efforts for mortgage and consumer lending. This role focuses on driving loan growth, building referral networks, and developing strong customer relationships that support both lending production and deposit growth, while collaborating across internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment with mortgage products and delivery expectations.

Key

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sales Leadership, Loan Approval, & Production (75%)
    • Lead and manage Mortgage Relationship Managers to achieve production goals.
    • Drive loan growth across mortgage and consumer lending products.
    • Monitor individual and team production performance and pipeline activity.
    • Coach and develop team members in business development and relationship management.
    • Establish clear expectations and accountability for loan production and deposit growth.
    • Review and approve loans within delegated authority, ensuring sound credit decisions, policy compliance, and alignment with the bank’s risk appetite.
  • Business Development & Relationship Management (10%)
    • Develop and maintain referral relationships with realtors, builders, and community partners.
    • Expand new customer acquisition through community engagement and relationship‑building activities.
    • Promote a relationship‑based approach to lending, with emphasis on converting borrowers into primary banking relationships.
    • Identify opportunities to deepen household relationships through cross‑sell of deposit and consumer products.
  • Strategic Alignment & Product Collaboration (10%)
    • Collaborate closely with secondary market partners and internal mortgage team to ensure smooth loan processes and consistent execution.
    • Partner with mortgage product and secondary market leadership to support effective loan delivery and market competitiveness.
    • Support alignment of sales activity with available mortgage products, ensuring appropriate product mix and utilization of competitive loan programs.
    • Provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and product gaps.
  • Team Coordination & Client Experience (5%)
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a consistent and high‑quality borrower experience.
    • Support coordination between sales, support, and fulfillment teams.
    • Reinforce expectations around communication, responsiveness, and service standards.
  • Qualifications
    • Education:

      Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
    • Experience:

      More than eight years in relevant roles.
