We are seeking a Controller with a solid background in the construction industry to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience with WIP reporting in the construction industry, along with leadership skills.

• Own the preparation of recurring financial reports and support periodic tax filings and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting activity including ledger maintenance, collections tracking, and outgoing payments.
• Partner cross‑functionally to track project‑based financials and support close cycles with accurate cost and revenue recognition.
• Lead the close process end‑to‑end, ensuring alignment with standard accounting practices and internal governance.
• Act as a point of contact for audit‑related requests and documentation.
• Manage and mentor a small team, providing guidance, oversight, and performance feedback.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule, including related reporting.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts, identifying trends and explaining financial performance to stakeholders.
• Support ad hoc financial and operational initiatives as needed.

• 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including at least 3 years of team leadership.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
• Experience with WIP reporting in the construction industry is required.
• Strong Excel capabilities and comfort working within accounting/ERP systems.
• Exposure to mid‑market accounting platforms or similar tools is a plus.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
• Union experience is a plus.
