The Office of Inspector General, Division of Audits & Investigations is the investigative arm of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. We conduct numerous types of investigations, which requires critical thinking and research into various Cabinet policies and procedures as well as State and Federal laws. Our most vital role is to safeguard the assets of the Cabinet. We do this by both investigating and preventing against waste, fraud, and abuse.

Our investigations protect and preserve important Cabinet programs such as SNAP and Medicaid as well many others that our most vulnerable Citizens depend on every day. Our office is also responsible for employee and Cabinet contractor investigations to maintain the integrity of the Cabinet.

In this position you will be tasked with conducting investigations of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), the WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (WIC FMNP) and of WIC participants and vendors.

This position includes administrative tasks crucial to completing investigations.

This position will serve as the investigator for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), the WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (WIC FMNP) and WIC participants in accordance with the rules, regulations and policies of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Food Nutrition Service (FNS). Responsiblities And Duties
  • Prepares correspondence for program contacts.
  • Uses various databases to obtain evidence, summarizes findings in specialized narrative report.
  • Works closely with WIC office on completion details.
  • Documents undercover work via pictures, purchases and submit reports in relation to investigations.
  • Makes formal recommendations based on findings.
  • Travel and overnights required.
  • Majority of job conducted in field setting involving interviews and surveillance.
  • Conducts undercover investigations and controlled buys in Urban and Rural settings.
  • Assists with recipient fraud cases.
  • Attends meetings and trainings, as required.

Minimum Requirements

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
