Position:
Cardiovascular Perfusionist

• Perform complex tests for diagnosis, treatment, measurement, and supplementation of cardiovascular system functions during open heart surgery.
• Setup, manage and safely operate various modalities of extracorporeal membrane oxygenator (ECMO), ventricular assist devices, and using Ex‑Vivo lung perfusion and Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP) to operate heart‑lung bypass machines during open heart surgery. This includes the setup and operation of the Angiovac systems for the treatment of certain heart valve diseases.
• Perform the following procedures:
  Isolated Limb Perfusion, Intra‑Peritoneal Hyperthermic Perfusion, Intra‑Thoracic Hyperthermic Perfusion, Isolated Organ Perfusion, and Liver dialysis, as well as Organ Procurement and Transplantation procedures.
• Provide treatments like platelets rich plasma product, Ultrafiltration, and Hemoconcentration.
• Ensure charting and data management system, interpretation of electronic perfusion monitoring data.
• Mentor, tutor and evaluate Perfusion students and other healthcare personnel.
• Perform regular quality control of all the equipment and make sure they are up to standard in accordance with the hospital policy.
• TRAVEL:
  Unanticipated travel within Midwest, Southwest, and West regions of the U.S., not to exceed 3 trips annually as determined by business needs.
• Position is based out of Brentwood, TN HQ, but telecommuting is permitted on a case‑by‑case basis.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Perfusion Technology, Clinical Perfusion, Cardiovascular Perfusion, or closely related. Employer will accept foreign degree and/or advanced degree in the same field.

Experience Requirements:

• 24 months of experience in job offered or closely related.

Special skills requirements:

• Experience with assisting a surgical team in performing open heart surgeries ranging from coronary artery bypass, various valve replacement and repair, complex aortic arch reconstruction, Ross procedure and advance minimally invasive mitral valve repair and cryoablation.
• Experience with operating cardiopulmonary bypass, intra‑aortic balloon pumping, cardioplegia delivery, autologous blood processing, and perfusion laboratory services‑lab analysis equipment.
• Experience operating heart/lung bypass machine, cell saving.
• Experience with centrifugal and roller pumps, using mini circuits with Vacuum assisting devices, such as extracorporeal circuits (heart‑lung machines).
• Must be a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
• Must have a Basic Life Support certificate.
