Schedule Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts Day shift Full-time: 40 hours per week Call rotation shared among 6 technologists Rotating start times: 6:30 a.m., 7:00 a.m., or 8:30 a.m.
Position SummaryUnder the direction of the department supervisor, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist oversees the daily flow of patients through the department and coordinates daily exam assignments. Performs nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level requiring minimal supervision of technical details. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the application of prescribed ionizing radiation and other forms of energy.
Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as assigned.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation related to individual patient cases.
- Obtains patient histories and other relevant information and coordinates communication with the radiologist and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
- Provides patient immobilization as required and follows prescribed radiation safety standards.
- Continuously monitors patients throughout examinations.
- Assists the radiologist with examinations and invasive procedures as needed.
- Effectively utilizes EPIC for documentation and patient care activities.
- Assists in ensuring all completed studies are assigned to a radiologist by the end of the shift.
- Technical diploma CNMT and/or ARRT(N)
- BLS certification
