As a General Manager, you will deliver the Herman Miller Client Experience through coaching, demonstrations, quoting, and sales generation. You will train and inspire the team to achieve the store sales plan and maximize store revenue while efficiently managing sales and merchandising.
What You’ll Do- Hire, develop, lead, and motivate the team through performance coaching, feedback, and training.
- Foster a great client experience.
- Engage in daily, weekly, and monthly performance management.
- Ensure studio presentation meets visual standards.
- Follow studio operational procedures to maximize profit and control expenses.
- Resolve employee relations issues in partnership with HR.
- Deliver the sales plan.
- 3–5 years of retail management experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills with a strong emphasis on listening.
- Ability to inspire team to conduct effective demonstrations in a high‑traffic environment.
- High personal performance standards, integrity, business ethics, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to build relationships and trust with direct reports, peers, and customers.
- Financial literacy and business acumen to manage budgets.
- Experience with POS systems, MS Office, web navigation, and 3‑D rendering programs.
- Ability to move objects >20 lbs and understand safety requirements.
