Position: Maintenance Technician (Night Shift)

Job purpose

To analyze and correct electrical problems and repair and overhaul electrical equipment and controls. Troubleshoot machine issues and modify PLC programs to fit Production needs. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components as needed.

Essential Functions
  • Analyze wiring diagrams and system drawings to install and troubleshoot CNC equipment.
  • Work with CMMS system to perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Work with our equipment manufacturers and their proprietary programs. Forel, GED, Ashton, Glaston, Biesse, Flow, etc.
  • Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles.
  • Works with Engineering on continuous improvement of production processes.
  • Completes assigned work orders and project work in a timely manner.
  • Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective action taken.
  • Adheres to housekeeping and safety standards, including the required use of personal protective equipment.
  • All other duties as deemed necessary by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Formal apprenticeship or completion of in-plant maintenance/programming training (OJT) program.
  • Experience with glass tempering and Insulated Glass (IG) processes a plus.
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others.
  • Ability to work all shifts, flexible hours and mandatory overtime.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work without constant supervision.
  • Able to read schematics.
  • Familiar with AC/DC power and PLC experience preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 4 plus years of industrial millwright/electrical experience with low 5

    VDC to high 480V/3

    Phase electrical systems.
  • Required – High School diploma or GED or prior experience/training in manufacturing environment.
  • Required - Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws, policies, and rules. Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by company.

Must be regularly available to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Must be available and willing to work such overtime as is necessary or desirable to meet business needs. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop.

Working conditions and environment
  • Noise may exceed 85db must wear hearing protection.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Tools, man lifts, safety equipment, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and steel toed shoes are required.
