How You Make a Difference

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation under RN supervision. The LPN provides direction and guidance in patient education and activities aligned with their education and demonstrated competencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients’ physical, psychological, and social dimensions and contribute to individualized treatment planning.
  • Implement treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administering medications and performing diagnostic tests according to established protocols.
  • Collaborate in controlled substance counts and respond to codes or health emergencies with safety precautions.
  • Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and document nursing encounters using SOAP charting.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience: Prefer a minimum of one (1) year of clinic experience.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Current licensure as LPN/LVN in the state of employment; CPR certification required and must be maintained.
